Solbor

Solbor was a Bajoran ramjen - a spiritual advisor - who served Kai Winn in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. He only appeared in the seventh season and was portrayed by James Otis.

Solbor appeared throughout the episodes "Till Death Do Us Part", "Strange Bedfellows" and "The Changing Face of Evil", serving as Kai Winn's most trusted aide. When the Kai was approached by the farmer Anjohl Tennan and the two began seeing each other, he quietly disapproved. He grew increasingly suspicious of Anjohl when the Kai began requesting to see a number of ancient forbidden texts, certain that this supposed farmer was twisting her mind. When Solbor attempted to return the various books to their archives, Anjohl stopped him forcefully and hit him.

After this confrontation, Solbor was convinced that Anjohl was not who he claimed to be. He discovered that he was indeed correct after having a sample of Anjohl's DNA resequenced and looking through records of casualties from the Occupation. Solbor discovered that the real Anjohl Tennan had died in a labour camp two years before the end of the Occupation and that the man posing as him was none other than the former Cardassian Prefect of Bajor: Gul Dukat. Realising that Dukat and Winn were attempting to release the demons known as the Pah-Wraiths from their ancient prison, he tried to flee and warn the authorities. Kai Winn stabbed him in the back before he could walk out the door. The confused Winn then tried to destroy the Text of the Kosst Amojan which held the secret to freeing the Pah-Wraiths. The book's pages were seemingly blank, but when Solbor's blood dripped from the knife Winn held and on to the book, the scripture suddenly appeared, bringing Dukat a step closer to his goal.
