This article references the various background character deaths and mentioned deaths from the 2009 Sherlock Holmes film.
- Prior to the film's events, Lord Blackwood was responsible for murdering five innocent women as part of his occult practices. He was about to kill a sixth before he was arrested by Sherlock Holmes.
- Luke Reordan - A midget that Irene Adler hires Holmes to find. After hearing of Blackwood's return from the grave, Holmes and Watson discover that Reordan's body has been placed in Blackwood's coffin.
- One of Blackwood's henchmen is killed whilst struggling with Holmes and Watson at Reordan's place.
- Holmes, Watson and Adler sneak into Parliament via the sewers where they discover a device that will flood the House of Lords with cyanide gas. They fight against several of Blackwood's hired thugs. Four of the thugs are shot dead.
- At the end of the film, Sergeant Clark informs Holmes of the murder of a policeman in the sewers shortly after Blackwood's demise. The officer was shot in the head at point-blank range with a small concealed pistol. Holmes suspects that the culprit is Professor Moriarty, who has been observing events from behind the scenes and had hired Irene to aid Holmes in his investigation.
