Liza is a supporting character throughout the first half of Season 1 of Gotham. She was a singer who performed live at Fish Mooney's nightclub until Mooney employed her in her schemes to usurp Carmine Falcone. She was portrayed by Makenzie Leigh.

History[]

Liza originally performed as a singer at Fish Mooney's nightclub. The ambitious Mooney sought to replace Don Falcone as head of the Falcone crime family and began holding auditions at her club in order to find a suitable "weapon" to use against the Don. Liza was eventually chosen both for her singing ability and her resemblance to Falcone's mother, and so Mooney arranged for Liza and Falcone to meet.

Falcone found himself taken with Liza and hired her as his housekeeper. While living under Falcone's roof, Liza found herself uncertain as to what the Don saw in her, wondering if she was his lover or his mother. She would spy on Falcone and glean information from him for Mooney to use, but ultimately Mooney wanted to use Falcone's affection for Liza to trap him and extort control of his empire from him.

Death[]

In the episode "What the Little Bird Told Him", Mooney put her plan against Falcone into action and staged Liza's abduction. She contacted Falcone and the two crime bosses arranged to meet to discuss terms. Arriving at Mooney's club, Falcone appeared ready to give up his empire to Mooney, but revealed that Oswald Cobblepot had already informed him of Liza's deception and Mooney's plot. Mooney was taken away and her people were all killed while Falcone dealt with Liza himself. With regret and sorrow, Falcone placed his hands around Liza's throat and strangled her to death.
