Jennifer Caulfield (portrayed by Penelope Sudrow) was a character from the slasher-horror A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: The Dream Warriors. She was a patient at Westin Hills Asylum and the second person to die in the film.
Biography[]
Jennifer was an idealistic, optimistic young girl who dreamed of one day going to Hollywood to become an actress. However, she was committed to Westin Hills Asylum after exhibiting what her parents believed to be suicidal behaviour. The truth, however, was that Jennifer and the other patients were being hunted in their dreams by the demonic Freddy Krueger. When Freddy killed Jennifer, he preyed on her dreams of TV stardom.
Death[]
The night after Phillip Anderson's death, Jennifer fell asleep while watching TV in the asylum rec room. In her dream, she saw Freddy on the TV screen, attacking a woman on the talk show she had been watching. The image cut out, replaced by static accompanied by children's screams. Jennifer stepped toward the television set on the wall when suddenly two mechanical arms erupted from the sides of the set and grabbed her. Freddy's head then emerged from the top of the set and he slammed Jennifer's head through the screen, electrocuting her. In the real world, despite there being no way that Jennifer could have raised herself high enough to smash her head through the TV screen, her death was dismissed as suicide by the asylum staff.
