Julius Gaw was a supporting character in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. He was a student at Lakeview High School and was the school boxing champion. He was portrayed by Vincent Craig Dupree.

Biography[]

Julius was among several students who set off aboard the SS Lazarus on a field trip to New York. During the voyage, the undead killer Jason Voorhees boarded the vessel and began killing the passengers and crew one by one. When Jason's presence was realised, Julius mobilised a posse to scour the ship and hunt the masked murderer down. However, these would-be heroes all ended up being killed and Julius himself was thrown overboard by Jason.

As Charles McCulloch, Rennie Wickham, her dog Toby, Sean Robertson and Colleen Van Deusen abandoned ship in a lifeboat, Julius suddenly reappeared and joined the other survivors as they fled the doomed ship. They would eventually reach New York, but shortly after reaching port Rennie was abducted at gunpoint by a pair of street thugs. Julius and the others would then split up to try and find help, unaware that Jason had managed to follow them to port.

Julius' death scene - Head punch - Jason Takes Manhattan

Julius was the 82nd victim of Jason and his death is among the most iconic and hilarious in the series. As Julius tries to call 911 from a payphone, Jason suddenly appears and attacks him. Julius flees and climbs up a ladder to a rooftop, but the masked psychopath follows him. Alone on the roof with Jason, Julius decides to take the monster on bare-knuckled. Using all his boxing skills, Julius attacks Jason and lands several blows, but the killer is not fazed at all by any of them. Eventually, Julius wears himself out, leaving him vulnerable, and dares Jason to take his best shot. Jason does exactly that; with a single uppercut, he severs Julius' head, sending it tumbling off the roof and into a dumpster.
