Brenda Jones was one of the main characters in the slasher horror film Friday the 13th. In 1979, she and several other young people were hired by Steve Christy to renovate and reopen Camp Crystal Lake. She was portrayed by Laurie Bartram and was the eighth character to die in the film.
Biography[]
On June 13th of 1979, Brenda was one of several people hired to help restore the abandoned resort of Camp Crystal Lake. While she had some knowledge about nutrition, she opted to be a counselor at the camp rather than a chef.
At night, while a storm was raging, Brenda, Bill and Alice decided to pass the time by playing Strip Monopoly. As the storm worsened, Brenda decided to call it quits and returned to her cabin to get some sleep, first stopping by the washroom to clean up. As she lay in bed reading, she heard a voice cry out for help and went outside into the storm to investigate.
Death[]
Following the call of the disembodied voice, Brenda wandered onto the camp's archery range. The floodlights around the range suddenly came on and Brenda was blinded by the light. It was then that she was attacked by the psychotic Pamela Voorhees.
Brenda's death was not shown on-screen and it is unknown by what method Pamela killed her. By the time Alice is the only counselor left alive, she has barricaded herself inside her cabin, but moments later a window smashes as Brenda's body is thrown through it, bound with ropes and covered in blood and bruises.
